COLUMBUS, OH – The third round of body-worn camera grants are now available, and State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) encourages Wood County law enforcement agencies to submit their applications for this funding opportunity.

“As an advocate for our law enforcement and public safety, I ask for our departments to take advantage of this funding,” Ghanbari said. “I know that this technology has helped both our agencies and the communities over the last year, and I look forward to having more funding coming through the program to enhance the safety here in Wood County.”

Ghanbari recently supported the state budget that provides the funds for the program, and the representative contributed to the legislative process on the bill as a member of the House Finance Committee. During the previous state budget, Ghanbari also supported the funding when the program launched from the legislation.

The program assists law enforcement agencies with the costs of camera equipment, video storage software, public records maintenance, IT, and any other necessary expenses.

In January 2022, Ghanbari announced the first round of funding brought over $150,000 in grants to the Bowling Green Police Division and Bowling Green State University. Additionally, he advocated for law enforcement agencies to apply during the second round of funding.

Agencies can apply from now until Oct. 5, 2023, by visiting here, and more details can be found on their website.
