COLUMBUS — State Reps. Erika White (D-Springfield Township) and James Hoops (R-Napoleon) today delivered sponsor testimony before the House Public Safety Committee on bipartisan House Bill (HB) 311 that would designate the third full week of May as EMS week. The bill aims to recognize the Emergency Medical Services personnel and the essential services that they provide to Ohioans.

“EMS staff stabilize lives in high pressure situations, providing critical care from the moment a call comes in until the patient is safely admitted to a hospital. Their work does not stop at the ambulance or the emergency room door – it continues until patients are fully under their care. Their dedication saves lives, comforts families, and strengthens the health and safety of our state,” said Rep. White.

HB 311 awaits a further hearing in the House Public Safety Committee.
