Rep. White Releases Statement After Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong Injured During Hit and Run

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Erika White (D-Springfield Township) today released the following statement after Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong was injured in a hit and run crash while out of state at a firefighter conference:

“My thoughts and prayers are with Toledo Fire and Rescue Chief Allison Armstrong as she recovers from the significant injuries she sustained in a hit and run crash while attending a firefighter conference out of state.

For more than two decades, Chief Armstrong has answered the call to serve others, rising through the ranks of Toledo Fire and Rescue and making history as the first woman to lead the department.

Her service has always been about caring for people in some of their most difficult moments. Now, our community has the opportunity to surround her with that same care, strength, and support.

We are praying for Chief Armstrong’s healing and full recovery, and for strength for her family, colleagues, and all those supporting her in the days ahead.

Chief Armstrong has given so much to Toledo, and we look forward to the day she can safely return home to the community she has served so faithfully.

May she be blessed with strength, healing, and a full recovery.”
