COLUMBUS — State Rep. Erika White (D-Springfield Township) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved over $257K for a new regional office for the Ohio Investigative Unit and the Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center.

“I am pleased to see Controlling Board approve funding to invest in the necessary space to support a new unit in Maumee that will serve communities across Ohio,” said Rep. White.

The controlling board funding will go towards:

  • The Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU): The OIU enforces Ohio’s alcohol, tobacco, and SNAP fraud laws. The new location will increase collaboration efforts and provide additional space for evidence retention.
  • The Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center (ONIC): The ONIC is relocating to Maumee as part of a broader a cost-saving consolidation measure.

“This investment is an important step towards strengthening public safety infrastructure that communities across Ohio rely on. Collaboration between law enforcement results in stronger and safer communities,” concluded Rep. White.
