Rep. Jarrells votes to deliver $770,312 in American Rescue Plan funds to House District 25
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Dontavius Jarrells (D-Columbus) today voted in favor of House Bill (HB) 377, bipartisan legislation to release the second, $442 million batch of local government funding from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan to Ohio’s cities, villages and townships serving 50,000 people or less. Communities of more than 50,000 people receive their allocation directly from the federal government.
HB 377 brings the total distribution to local governments to $844 million. The distribution amounts are in accordance with a population-based formula from the American Rescue Plan Act and guidance issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
“As our townships continue to recover from the devastation from COVID-19, the American Rescue Plan Act will help our local governments and other agencies to rehire laid-off workers, rebuild infrastructure, improve communities and provide targeted relief to those hurt most by this pandemic. Now, it is time to put this money to work for the people of Ohio,” said Rep. Jarrells.
The local governments in the Ohio House District 25 will receive the following funds:
Clinton Township – $ 214,808
Mifflin Township – $ 136,667
Blendon Township – $ 418,836
House Bill 377 now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
