COLUMBUS – State Rep. Dontavius Jarrells (D-Columbus) this week announced that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved an economic development proposal from G & J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers that includes a capital investment of just under $23 million.

“I am very excited about the approval of this project for the city of Columbus,” said Rep. Jarrells. “Investments that create more jobs for the citizens of Columbus have crucial and compounding effects that ripple throughout Franklin County and our great state. Generating these positions is a meaningful step towards ensuring high-paying, vital jobs for all.”

G & J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. is expected to create 44 new full-time positions, while retaining over 600 positions. These positions will retain $30.6 million in payroll, and generate $2.2 million in new payroll, annually.

The TCA approved a 1.171%, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for G & J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc., allowing this project to be one of six new projects in Ohio that are expected to generate $426 million in investments across the state. G & J Pepsi serves more than 30 brands, and its expansion to Columbus will spur economic development and job growth within all of Franklin County.
