Cities of Brunswick, Medina Receiving ODNR Grants for Recreational Improvements
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) announced several grants through the Clean Ohio Trails Fund for the cities of Brunswick and Medina. State Rep. Darrell Kick (R-Loudonville) supports the funding of the projects in the region.
“This funding is important in helping our state address the upkeep areas of our trails in parks in the state,” said Kick. “Many people partake in recreational activities in our district, and it is great to see investments being made right here in our communities for that purpose.”
Here are two of the ODNR grants:
-City of Brunswick - Plum Creek Greenway, Phase I - $301,500
-City of Medina - East Reagan Parkway Multiuse Path Connector - $195,053
The grants will be used to make improvements upon these areas for hiking, biking, walking, running, and many other outdoor activities.
ODNR manages the Clean Ohio Trails Fund, which is part of the Clean Ohio Fund. The Clean Ohio Fund makes efforts to restore, protect and connect Ohio’s natural and urban areas throughout the state.
The $400 million bond program began in 2000.
