Representative Troy Announces $98,000 to Lakeland Community College for a New Student Success Center
COLUMBUS - State Representative Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced the Ohio Controlling Board has approved $98,000 in funding for a new Student Success Center at Lakeland Community College. The project will renovate the current College Testing Center into a comprehensive space for student support and engagement.
“As a former part-time faculty member at Lakeland, I am aware of the importance of an appropriate physical atmosphere and space on campus to support student learning, as well as socialization. I am glad to have been part of the effort at the state level to make these funds for Lakeland available,” said Rep. Troy.
The new space will house academic services, such as student counselor offices and the Writing Center, as well as a renovated lounge area for students to study, collaborate, and socialize. The college aims for the Student Success Center to serve as a hub for academic achievement and community engagement on campus.
