Representative Troy Announces $90,000 to Lakeland Community College for Electrical Infrastructure Replacements

COLUMBUS- State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced the Ohio Controlling Board’s approval of $90,000 for Lakeland Community College to replace the electrical substation on campus.
“I am proud to have helped secure state funding for infrastructure improvements at Lakeland Community College. This electric substation replacement will not only improve service for the campus facilities but also help lower energy costs for the college,” said Rep. Troy. “Lakeland is a vital resource for Lake County and Northeast Ohio, and I am glad to support continued state investment in the college and our community.”
This funding is a part of the college’s larger initiative to replace outdated mechanical and electrical infrastructure across campus. Much of the existing infrastructure is original to Lakeland’s construction in the 1960s and 1970s and has long outlived its usefulness. The replacement of the electrical substation is another step to improve the longevity and efficiency of Lakeland’s electrical systems.
“We continue to be grateful to Rep. Troy and the state for their ongoing support to upgrade and modernize the infrastructure at Lakeland Community College. These are much-needed investments that allow the college to offer state-of-the-art programs and services to the students and the community,” said Sunil Ahuja, Ph.D., president of Lakeland.
