COLUMBUS - Ohio House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) today released the following statement in response to five Hamilton County organizations being named as recipients for the Welcome Home Ohio grant:

“In light of the ongoing housing crisis in our state, this grant award is a win for Hamilton County residents. Going forward, we must prioritize efforts to ensure that every Ohioan can find a home they can afford. The solution is clear: we need to build more homes. More housing means lower costs, expanded opportunity, and a brighter future for our communities," said Leader Isaacsohn.

Collectively, the five organizations received over $2.5M in grant funds to expand access to safe and affordable housing in Hamilton County. The award funds are derived from Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Development’s Welcome Home Ohio program, which was created to support organizations aiming to increase housing stock in their communities.

The five organizations received the following grants:

  • The Hamilton County Land Reutilization Corporation will receive a $500K grant for the rehabilitation or construction of five homes.
  • The Homesteading and Urban Redevelopment Corporation will receive a $300K grant for the rehabilitation or construction of three homes.
  • The Avondale Development Corporation will receive a $900K grant for the rehabilitation or construction of nine homes.
  • The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority will receive a $300K grant for the rehabilitation or construction of three homes.
  • Price Hill Will is set to receive a $615K grant for the rehabilitation or construction of seven homes.
