State Reps. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) and Sara Carruthers (R-Hamilton) will be introducing the “Parents’ Bill of Rights Act,” which will protect and preserve the fundamental role that parents play in the education of their children.

State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) has issued the following statement for local drug task force funding announced for Ottawa County to support reducing drug use and provide substance abuse awareness and prevention:

State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces that significant funding was approved today for both the Ohio Veterans Home located in Sandusky and for Lake Erie protection. The funds were approved on Monday by the State Controlling Board during their meeting.

State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces significant funding for the Perkins Township Police Department to help reduce violent crime throughout the community. The funding stems from the Ohio Violent Crime Reduction Grant Program.

State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces local residents can take advantage of the upcoming Ohio Annual Sales Tax Holiday occurring this weekend, Aug. 5-7. The annual holiday weekend ensures Ohioans do not pay state sales tax on certain exempted items.

State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces $1.6 million in funding coming to the Camp Perry Joint Training Center. This release of capital funds is to provide assistance for the facility with their new readiness center. The funding was approved during Monday’s State Controlling Board meeting.

COLUMBUS – House Bill 377, sponsored by State Representative D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron), was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine today.

The state controlling board has approved the release of $345,480.23 for projects in Ottawa and Sandusky Counties.

State Representatives DJ Swearingen (R-Huron) and Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) just cleared House Joint Resolution 2 out of the Ohio House.
