The state controlling board has approved the release of $345,480.23 for projects in Ottawa and Sandusky Counties. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today is pleased to report that House Bill 687 has cleared the Ohio House. This legislation will provide funding to many local projects throughout both Ottawa and Erie counties.  

COLUMBUS – Soon judges throughout Ohio will have to consider public safety when setting bail amount for accused criminals, under legislation being proposed at the Ohio Statehouse. State Representatives DJ Swearingen (R-Huron) and Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) just cleared House Joint Resolution 2 out of the Ohio House. 

COLUMBUS - The state controlling board has approved the release of $85,000 for the pre-construction site inspection for the new National Guard readiness center located at Camp Perry Joint Training Center in Ottawa County, Ohio.

COLUMBUS - State Representative DJ Swearingen (R-Huron) and State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering) announce House Bill 440, the Ohio Gains initiative that is responsible for the Ag-Link Deposit Program has passed the Ohio Senate with a unanimous vote of 32-0.

COLUMBUS – State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces that House Bill 229 passed within the General Assembly earlier today. The legislation aids Ohio tourism by supporting the area’s campgrounds. Swearingen is a primary joint sponsor with State Rep. Shane Wilkin (R-Hillsboro).

COLUMBUS – House Bill 186, legislation sponsored by State Representatives DJ Swearingen (R-Huron) and Shane Wilkin (R-Hillsboro) passed the Ohio House by a vote of 90-0. The goal of this legislation is to help Ohioans of all ages achieve the goal of homeownership.
