COLUMBUS - The Ohio House of Representatives approved House Bill 377, legislation with a plan to distribute the second phase of funding from the federal American Rescue Plan Act.

State Representative Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) supported the measure with a ‘yes’ vote on the House floor on Wednesday, May 18.

“While Ohio has made strides in the recovery process from the pandemic, there are still consequences impacting communities that need to be addressed,” said Abrams. “These dollars will be important to the 29th House District in doing so.”

The communities expected to receive funding are:

  • City of Harrison, $ 625,546.69
  • Village of Addyston, $ 49,219.21
  • Village of Cleves, $ 177,473.10
  • Village of North Bend, $ 45,906.38
  • Miami Township, $ 573,330.16

Per the ARPA, Ohio received $844 million to allocate directly to counties, cities, villages and townships with a population of at least 50,000. The funding was to be allocated in two in parts, 12 months apart.

Ohio’s localities received the first round of funding in June of 2021.

H.B. 377 now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
