Bill Protecting Military Families Signed into Law
COLUMBUS—House Bill 92 was signed into law yesterday by Governor DeWine, announced State Representative Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison).
Joint sponsored by Abrams and State Representative Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta), this legislation will require public children services agencies to report cases of child abuse or neglect in military families to the appropriate military authorities.
“Our military families have already sacrificed so much for our country, state and communities,” said Abrams, “House Bill 92 is key to taking care of them and I am excited it has officially crossed the finish line!”
A top priority for the Department of Defense, this common-sense bill will allow for better coordination of local child welfare and military protective and rehabilitative services.
The bill passed unanimously in both the Ohio House and Senate.
