Bill Creating Elder High School License Plate Signed into Law
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) today announced that Governor DeWine has signed into law Senate Bill 163, legislation creates the Elder High School License Plate.
“The Elder High School community is always looking for new ways to promote their school spirit and give back,” said Abrams. “Offering a license plate featuring the Purple and the White is the perfect way for them to do so not just in Cincinnati, but throughout the State of Ohio, where thousands of alumni fondly call home.”
S.B. 163 allows motorists to voluntarily purchase a specialty license plate for Elder High School through the Ohio Registrar’s office. The cost of each specialized plate is $40, of which $30 goes directly to the school.
“Each and every sale directly benefits the students of Elder by supporting robust arts and enrichment classes, clubs and organizations, supplementing the tuition assistance program, and continuing the excellence of the many athletic teams,” added Abrams.
Abrams originally introduced the legislation as House Bill 430. The bill was amended into Senate Bill 163 during House Transportation and Public Safety Committee to include other license plates for a variety of causes.
Due to an emergency clause, the legislation is effective immediately. More information on purchasing the plates will be shared shortly.
