Rep. Sweeney announces $2 billion capital re-appropriations budget signed into law

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland) today announced that the $2 billion capital re-appropriations budget for fiscal years 2023-24 has been signed into law. The legislation, House Bill (HB) 597, is a timely measure that complies with the Ohio Constitution’s two-year limit on appropriations. It was voted out of the House Finance Committee, 22-0, where Rep. Sweeney is the Ranking Member.

Rep. Sweeney announces over $177 million in funding to improve social services, support Ohio firefighters and police officers with PTSD

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland) announced that the State Controlling Board approved $320,821 to support first responders diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder arising from their employment.  The Ohio Post-Traumatic Stress Fund was created by House Bill (HB) 308 in the 133rd General Assembly, and it is a long-standing Democratic priority that helps pay lost wages and medical costs to public safety officers resulting from disability caused by PTSD.
