COLUMBUS – State Representative Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) was on hand as Governor Mike DeWine signed the $13.5 billon Ohio Transportation Budget (HB 23) into law today at the Statehouse. The budget will create jobs, connect the workforce to the worksite, improve roads and bridges across the state and implement new railway safety measures.
“Today’s signing of the transportation budget into law is a huge bipartisan win that puts Ohioans first. For over 30 years, rail safety measures have been ignored at the Statehouse,” said Rep. Sweeney. “Now we've heard the calls for change after East Palestine and met the moment with historic reforms.”
The law takes effect July 1.
