Rep. Sweeney Announces $95K for Impett Park on Cleveland's Westside

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today announced the State Controlling Board approved $94,695 to Cuyahoga County to build a new shelter in Impett Park on Cleveland’s westside. 

“Access to recreational facilities and community green spaces is essential for fostering healthy, vibrant neighborhoods, especially in urban areas,” said Rep. Sweeney. “These kinds of state investments help local governments better meet the needs of their residents and create a lasting impact in our communities.”

The funds are administered through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' (ODNR) NatureWorks program. The Controlling Board approved 86 projects across Ohio, totaling $3.5M.

Other approved Controlling Board items include:

  1. $405K to purchase two homes in Cuyahoga County for transitional housing for adults with developmental disabilities
  2. $400K to support Lake Erie restoration projects
  3. $320K to Cleveland State University for campus security upgrades
