State Representative Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) today applauded the recent announcement by the Ohio Department of Development that Ross County will receive $750,000 for water system improvements in Bainbridge.

This week, the Department of Development announced $5.75 million in grants to help revitalize downtowns, provide vital public services, and upgrade water and sewer infrastructure in 14 communities across 13 counties. According to the announcement, Ross County will receive $750,000 for water system improvements in Bainbridge as the village’s system is over a century old and experiences high water loss due to aged and damaged lines.

“Water system upgrades have been a pressing need in Bainbridge,” said Rep. Peterson. “I’m very glad to see the announcement of funding for this project.”

The funding is provided through the Flexible Grant and Residential Public Infrastructure Grant programs, both supported via the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). These awards aim to improve the quality of life for Ohioans by creating accessible infrastructure for those with disabilities, ensuring a safe and sanitary living environment, and opening doors for future development opportunities.¿¿
