State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) today introduced a new piece of legislation that would require the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), within 90 days, to formally request the elimination of E-Check in the seven Northeast Ohio counties (Cuyahoga, Summit, Lorain, Geauga, Medina, Lake, and Portage) if the U.S. EPA determines the region has moved from non-attainment to attainment status.

This legislation creates the Escaped Convict Alert Program (ECAP), which will strengthen public safety through a new alert system to notify residents when a nearby convict escapes from custody.
