August 21, 2024
Bill Roemer News

COLUMBUS –In response to the catastrophic flooding on August 8, 2024, State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield), joined by State Rep. Jack Daniels (R -New Franklin) and Summit County Councilwoman Bethany McKenney, urge Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to issue an emergency declaration in response to the severe flash flooding that impacted much of Greater Akron.

“We, and many others, are immensely appreciative of your steadfastness in declaring a state of emergency regarding the tornadic activity, wind gusts, and severe thunderstorms that swept through Summit County earlier in the same week,” said Roemer.

Roemer continued, “Our community is in need of additional resources and an emergency declaration will open the door to those critical support systems our residents, businesses, and local governments need to recover from this event.”

“To support our families and businesses in the area affected by the severe flooding, we need Governor DeWine to issue an emergency declaration in the Greater Akron region,” said Daniels. “The designation will give the area the support it so desperately needs to recover.”
