Norton, OH – State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) joined the City of Norton for its heartfelt Veterans Memorial Dedication Ceremony on Friday, July 4, 2025, to honor the brave men and women who served the country in all branches of the military.

The event featured a moving military service performed by the 555th Honors Detachment, paying tribute to local veterans and their families for their sacrifice and service.

“It is our solemn duty to remember and honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our veterans,” said Roemer.  “This memorial stands as a lasting tribute to their service and a reminder to all of us of the freedoms they have secured."

Major General James Hodge, a retired U.S. Army officer with over three decades of distinguished service, served as the keynote speaker for the ceremony. He culminated his military career as the commanding general of the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) and the Sustainment Center of Excellence at Fort Lee, Virginia.

The new memorial demonstrates the community’s deep appreciation for veterans and the significance of this moment in the city’s history.
