Reps. Bryant Bailey, Somani Introduce the Ohio Menopause and Hormone Therapy Act (H.O.T.T.I.E Act)

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Ashley Bryant Bailey (D-Cincinnati) and Anita Somani (D-Dublin) Tuesday introduced their new bill, the Ohio Menopause and Hormone Therapy Act, also known as the Hormone Optimization Treatment Through Insurance Expansion (H.O.T.T.I.E.) Act. This bill would align Ohio's insurance standards with updated federal guidance and current clinical evidence regarding menopausal hormone therapy. It expands access to care and ensures patients can work with their doctors to make informed, individualized decisions about their health, without worrying about unaffordable out-of-pocket costs.

Rep. Bryant Bailey Introduces Menopause Coverage Act as Trump Touts Drug Affordability in Cincinnati

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Ashley Bryant Bailey (D-Cincinnati) will soon introduce the Menopause Coverage Act - the Hormone Optimization Treatment Through Insurance Expansion Act (HOTTIE) - legislation that would require Ohio insurers to cover hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to treat menopause, bringing Ohio's standards in line with the FDA's updated guidance.

Reps. Bryant Bailey, Sims Introduce Legislation to Provide Minimum Standards for All Ohio Facilities

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Ashley Bryant Bailey (D-Cincinnati) and Veronica Sims (D-Akron) today announced they will be sponsoring legislation establishing minimum standards for all Ohio facilities, including adequate meals, medical care, and weather-appropriate clothing.
