Rep. Somani of Ohio House District 8 Sworn Into 136th General Assembly
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) Monday was sworn into the 136th Ohio General Assembly. Rep. Somani will be beginning her 2nd term in the legislature, serving the people of Dublin and Worthington at the Ohio Statehouse.
“I am honored to have been re-elected to the legislature. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to pass common-sense legislation that will improve the quality of life of Ohioans. Thank you to the people of House District 8 for trusting me to represent them well at the Statehouse,” said Rep. Somani.
With more than 30 years experience as an OB/GYN, Rep. Somani brings unique medical expertise to the legislature. This is her second term as a representative, and she ran for office again because she wants to improve the public health of our state and create evidence-based legislation that helps everyone in the community.
As a legislator, Rep. Somani’s top priorities are protecting reproductive rights, increasing access to high-quality healthcare, addressing the gun violence crisis, and championing public education.
