White to Chair Children's Trust Fund Board
COLUMBUS – Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) recently appointed State Rep. Andrea White (R-Kettering) as Chair to the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund Board.
The Children’s Trust Fund serves as Ohio’s only dedicated public funding source for child abuse and neglect prevention.
“I am honored to help lead Ohio’s efforts to invest in safe children, healthy families, and strong communities,” said White. “Protecting our youth and supporting families has been a long-time passion of mine, and I thank Speaker Cupp for this appointment.”
The group is responsible for:
- Providing grants to other agencies and nonprofits that provide evidence-based programs in their communities
- Providing resources and education to parents and caregivers to help them manage stress, find, support and services, and build stronger foundations for their families
- Providing training and education to processionals who provide services to families
- Annual awareness campaigns each April to educate the public about child abuse and neglect prevention
White previously launched initiatives in her community to address teen alcohol and drug prevention, childhood hunger and social-emotional development for youth and families. She helped found the South Suburban Coalition and served as a long-time chair and board member for Kettering’s Partners for Healthy Youth.
