Representative Holmes Delivers Sponsor Testimony on Telemedicine Expansion Act
COLUMBUS – Representative Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) delivered sponsor testimony on House Bill 122, also known as the Telemedicine Expansion Act, to the House Insurance Committee on Wednesday.
Alongside his Joint Sponsor, Representative Mark Frazier (R-Newark), Representative Holmes urged the Committee to quickly pass the bill “At no point in our lifetimes or state history has the need for quick access to quality care been so obvious.” Holmes said “By passing House Bill 122 we can give all Ohioans greater access to physical and mental health treatment, allow our providers to take full advantage of modern technology, and reduce the time and travel burden many Ohioans incur to seek medical assistance.”
The Telemedicine Expansion Act was originally House Bill 679 in the 133rd General Assembly and was passed by the House of Representatives 91-3 last June. The legislation did not make it through the Senate before the end of the term.
Representative Holmes says he looks forward to seeing the bill pass out of committee in the near future.
