Representative Holmes Commemorates John Glenn Centennial
CAMBRIDGE – Representative Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) Saturday attended the John Glenn Centennial Celebration in Cambridge and New Concord, joining Ohioans from around the state in celebrating the legacy of the iconic American.
Speaking from the steps of the Guernsey County Courthouse, Holmes spoke of how Mr. Glenn had come to embody the spirit of his hometown and the nation “His values are our values,” Holmes said “His marriage and his life represents the best of us.”
Rep. Holmes also presented a proclamation from the Ohio House of Representatives commemorating Mr. Glenn. Holmes concluded his remarks by quoting the proclamation “He certainly distinguished himself as a responsible and hardworking Ohioan, and we applaud his tremendous efforts.”
Rep. Holmes attended several other of the weekend events, including the Friendship 7 Miler run from Cambridge to New Concord. Rep. Holmes said he hopes the celebration of Mr. Glenn’s life sparks the passion of future aerospace leaders and becomes an annual recurrence in the community.
