Rep. Bird Champions Regional Projects, Votes in Support of Capital Budget Bill

State Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) today voted in support of Ohio’s Capital Budget bill, a two-year capital improvements budget for state and community projects throughout the state totaling nearly $4 billion.
The bill provides appropriations for state infrastructure needs, including renovations to state offices, new construction for mental health facilities, land acquisition, and equipment. The plan also includes just over $200 million for community projects, which are projects that come from outside of state agencies and have a benefit or nexus to the state.
All 88 counties will receive funding for community projects.
Rep. Bird helped secure investments for the following community projects in District 63:
Brown County:
$350,000 for the Brown County Fairgrounds Bleacher Project
$300,000 for the Brown County Fairgrounds Restroom Project
$150,000 for the Brown County Historical District Parking Lot
$150,000 to build the Village of Mount Orab Bruce Lunsford Park Inclusive Playground
$100,000 to make improvements for the Brown County Courthouse Facility
$50,000 for the Colonel Higgins Pickleball Court Project
$50,000 for the Kathryn Hanlon Park Tennis Court Project
Clermont County:
$200,000 for the Felicity Apartments Housing Project
$150,000 to make improvements to Batavia Township Park
$100,000 for the Veterans Village Clubhouse
$100,000 for the Village of New Richmond Building Remediation Project
$75,000 for the Clingman Mountain Bike Skills Loop
$66,000 for the Bethel Historical Museum HVAC system
$50,000 to make improvements to the Franklin Township Community Park
$15,000 to make improvements to the Community Park Disc Golf Course
“I’m pleased that we can support these fantastic projects in our community,” said Rep. Bird. “Making investments like these helps boost our communities and foster connections.”
Through this bill, Ohio House Republicans prioritized investing in Ohio’s future by expanding access to education and healthcare through new facilities or upgrades to existing ones, improving parks and roadways to better connect communities, and strengthening local facilities across the state by providing necessary funding for enhancements.
This bill now heads to the Governor for consideration.
