State Rep. Scherer Honors Mohr for Receiving National Corrections Award
State Representative Gary Scherer (R-Circleville) honored Ohio prisons Director Gary Mohr for being named has the recipient of the Tom Clements Innovation Award, a national award given by the Association of State Correctional Administrators.
“The 92nd House District has several prisons, and I have been able to see first-hand the tremendous impact that Director Mohr has had on these prisons and all those throughout Ohio,” said Scherer. “I am proud to call Director Mohr a close friend, and am confident that he and his staff are more than deserving of this national recognition.”
Mohr, a Chillicothe resident, was honored with the award for his innovation that he brings to Ohio’s correction facilities and his work to ensure offenders are able to succeed in society following their release. Mohr has been working in corrections for over 40 years in both the public and private sector, including head of the Governor’s Office of Criminal Justice and administrator with the Department of Youth Services.
Scherer presented Mohr with a resolution during today’s Ohio House session in recognition of Mohr’s accomplishment.
