State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari Receives Distinguished 'Patriot Award'
State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari, R-Perrysburg, was awarded the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Ohio Federal Security Director’s Patriot Award during a ceremony, Sept. 9 at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in Columbus.
“I was humbled to be among a small group of Ohioans recognized by the Transportation Security Administration,” Ghanbari said. “The safety and security of our communities remains a top priority, and I’ll continue to stand with the honorable women and men who serve on the frontlines. We shall never forget the sacrifices of those who perished on 9/11 and those who have continually answered our nation’s call to service to defend the homeland from another attack.”
Ghanbari was one of 31 awardees from across Ohio to be honored with the Patriot Award. The representative was recognized for his significant contributions to the security, safety and welfare of the United States and the State of Ohio. A commissioned Naval Officer, Ghanbari previously served in the Army and has deployed multiple times following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“There is no better time to reflect on the legacy of service that runs through so many in Ohio, and we all benefit from that,” Ohio TSA Federal Security Director Don Barker said. “The individuals we were able to honor…committed their lives to keeping us safe and bettering their communities, and we hope these awards highlight our appreciation.”
