State Board Approves Funding for Buck Creek State Park
COLUMBUS – The State Controlling Board has approved funding for improvements at Buck Creek State Park, State Representative Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) announced today.
The board released $7.3 million for cabin improvements at three state parks today. In addition to Buck Creek, the other state parks slated for work are Lake Hope and Salt Fork.
Work at Buck Creek will involve a full renovation of 12 cabins, including new siding, windows, doors and roofs, and extensive interior work. The cabins were built in the late 1970s. Buck Creek has long been a popular recreation destination.
“It’s important to protect the taxpayers’ investment in the state park and make improvements to keep it strong for years to come,” said Koehler. “Buck Creek is popular among area residents and visitors alike. I appreciate the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ continued commitment to our community.”
