August 31, 2016
Republican Newsroom

Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) today announced that his office will be accepting applications for his respective appointments to the Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee. In accordance with the passage of House Bill 523, which permits the use of medical marijuana in the state, an advisory committee will be created to oversee the implementation of the new law.

The law requires the Speaker of the House to appoint public members representing the following interests:

• A member who represents persons involved in mental health treatment
• A member who represents patients

“I encourage interested candidates to apply for these appointments required by House Bill 523,” Speaker Rosenberger said. “It is our goal to continue making this process as thorough and transparent as possible, ensuring that Ohioans are part of the discussion. Those with expertise in the areas of mental health treatment and patient care should consider applying for an opportunity to help implement medical marijuana legalization in the state.”

To be considered for either of these appointments by the Speaker of the House, please send a resume and cover letter no later than September 16th to Speaker Rosenberger at 77 South High Street, 14th Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215 or by email at Rep91@ohiohouse.gov (Subject Line: Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee Applicant).
