Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) announces $500,000 for Delphos to assist the city with lead service line replacements. The funding is based on grants from the H2Ohio initiative.

“Water quality is essential for the safety of Ohioans,” Cupp said. “Our budget included important funding for H2Ohio that made this investment possible, which will help ensure Delphos has clean and safe water for our residents.”

Cupp was pivotal in leading the state budget through the Legislature last year that ultimately provided millions of dollars to H2Ohio to improve water quality.

Lead-based drinking water can add to an individual’s total lead exposure. The $500,000 being awarded by this grant program to Delphos will help both remove and replace lead pipes throughout the community.

In 2021, the state budget bill that Cupp supported passed in the General Assembly and was signed into law.
