Speaker Cliff Rosenberger Announces Screening Panel to Fill Vacant 89th Ohio House District Seat
Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and members of the Ohio House Republican Caucus today announced that a screening panel will soon be organized to begin screening candidates wishing to fill the vacant 89th House District seat.
At the Speaker’s request, Rep. Kirk Schuring (R-Canton) will serve as the chairman of the panel. The panel of Republican House members, as well as the location of the panel interviews, will be announced at a later date.
“In response to the recent vacancy in the 89th House District, it is important that our caucus work with local elected officials and residents in Erie and Ottawa counties to find a qualified replacement,” Speaker Rosenberger said. “As a long-serving member in the General Assembly, Rep. Kirk Schuring has been a great leader within our caucus and I have full faith that he will lead the screening panel fairly and effectively.”
Residents of the 89th House District who wish to be considered for the appointment should provide a letter of interest to Speaker Rosenberger at 77 South High Street, 14th Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215 by Friday, August 28 at 5 p.m. Applicants may also email their letter to Speaker Rosenberger at Rep91@ohiohouse.gov.
