Representative Demetriou Honors Nordonia Knights Girls Flag Football Team as Inaugural 2026 Ohio State Champions

State Representative Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Twp.) recently honored the Nordonia High School Knights Girls Flag Football Team through House Resolution 451, recognizing the team's historic achievement as the inaugural Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Girls High School Flag Football State Champions.

"These young women made history and represented their school and community with pride. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on an incredible season,” Representative Demetriou.

Nordonia won the inaugural OHSAA Girls Flag Football State Championship on May 18, 2026, defeating Mount Notre Dame by a score of 20-19 in a title game. 

House Resolution 451 also recognizes the coaches and school leadership whose support made the championship possible:

• Head Coach Steve Holtz  
• Assistant Coaches Ryan Musarra, Jason Czech, and Marty Atha  
• Athletic Director Rob Eckenrode 

This resolution is now adopted.
