Rep. Workman Attends Congressional Term Limits Summit in Florida, Joins Governor DeSantis Panel

State Representative Heidi Workman (R-Rootstown) attended the Congressional Term Limits Summit in Delray Beach, Florida, representing the Ohio House of Representatives. The summit convened state legislators from across the country to discuss and advance support for a U.S. constitutional amendment establishing term limits for members of Congress.
During the retreat, Rep. Workman had the honor of joining Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on a panel discussion highlighting the importance of congressional term limits and the role state legislatures play in restoring accountability and trust in the federal government.
The U.S. Term Limits Summit emphasized the constitutional pathway available to states to propose an amendment that would limit the number of terms members of Congress may serve. Participants discussed strategies to build bipartisan momentum and encourage states to take action.
Rep. Workman is the sponsor of House Joint Resolution 3, legislation which calls for the establishment of congressional term limits through a constitutional amendment. Her participation in the summit reinforced Ohio’s leadership in the national effort to promote government accountability and citizen representation.
“Ohio has an opportunity to lead on an issue that consistently earns broad support from voters,” Rep. Workman said. “Congressional term limits are about restoring balance, accountability, and a government that works for the people.”
H.J.R 3 awaits further consideration in the House Government Oversight Committee.
