Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) today released a statement regarding the announcement that State Rep. Barbara Sears (R-Monclova Twp.) will resign from her seat in the Ohio House to serve as Assistant Director of the Governor’s Office of Health Transformation.
“Rep. Sears has been an integral part of our leadership team and the Ohio House during her time in the legislature. Her work has spanned across a wide range of topics, such as health care, unemployment compensation and curbing the opioid epidemic plaguing our state. I have greatly appreciated her breadth of knowledge and her willingness to tackle issues that mean a great deal to Ohioans.
“I have no doubt that as she begins her role as Assistant Director for the Office of Health Transformation, she will continue to use her diverse expertise to improve the quality of life for all Ohioans.
“Barbara has been a loyal friend and House member during her time here and she will be dearly missed by her fellow legislators. I wish her well and look forward to working with her in her new role.”
Rep. Sears’ new position will be effective July 1, 2016.
