Rep. Salvo Highlights Ohio Statehouse Transportation Grant Program

COLUMBUS – State Representative Jodi Salvo (R-Bolivar) today announced that the application for the Ohio Statehouse Transportation Grant will be open September 4 until September 13 at 11:59 p.m. 

“One of the best parts of serving at the Statehouse is having students from our district come to Columbus and having the opportunity to meet with them,” said Rep. Salvo. “These visits give students a chance to experience the Statehouse firsthand, learn more about Ohio history and government, and bring what they are learning in the classroom to life. I also enjoy encouraging them to understand the importance of civic engagement and reminding them that their voices matter and are needed in shaping the future of their communities and our state. I hope our local schools will take advantage of this grant opportunity, and I look forward to welcoming more District 51 students to the Statehouse.”

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) will award 180 grants to schools across Ohio, helping cover the cost of school bus transportation to the Ohio Statehouse and its museum. Grants will be awarded evenly among three categories based on one-way travel from the applicant's school to the Ohio Statehouse:  

• 0 to 50 miles (60 grants)
• 51 to 100 miles (60 grants)
• 101+ miles (60 grants)
   

Only schools that receive state funding are eligible to apply.
