State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) announced this week that the Ohio Controlling Board approved the release of $1,814,243.00 in funding for the Hocking College Culinary Lab Renovation Project.

According to documents provided at the meeting, the McClenaghan Center for Hospitality Training renovation is a high priority for the college and necessary to provide a safe and functional lab space for its culinary students. The scope of the project includes cooler/freezer replacement, kitchen equipment and hood upgrades, new finishes, HVAC, and electrical upgrades.

“Culinary students studying at Hocking College will benefit greatly from having an updated, more modernized lab space,” said Rep. Ritter. “We want graduates to be successful, and gaining hands-on experience and receiving the best training possible puts them on the road to a better career and brighter future.”
