State Representative Angie King (R-Celina) today voted in support of Ohio’s Capital Budget bill, a two-year capital improvements budget for state and community projects throughout Ohio totaling nearly $4 billion.

The bill provides appropriations for state infrastructure needs, new construction for mental health facilities, hospitals, universities, and equipment. The plan also includes just over $200 million for community projects that address local priorities and enhance the quality of life for Ohio families.

Rep. King is pleased to report that the district secured funding for a number of community projects, including the following requests:

$3,135,000 Lake Loramie and Grand Lake St. Mary’s
$450,000 Historic Bears Mills Park
$300,000 Fort Recovery Opera House
$100,000 Auglaize County Fair
$100,000 Wapakoneta Veterans Memorial Park Playground
$100,000 New Knoxville Community Park Improvements.
$100,000 St. Mary’s Theater Improvements
$100,000 Shane’s Park Improvements
$12,000 Ansonia Ballpark Improvements
$57,000 Greenville Shelter Replacement
$50,000 Darke County Tourism Motorsports Project
$50,000 Maria Stein Playground Remodel
$33,000 St. Mary’s Veterans Museum
$25,000 Greenville Park Improvements
$10,000 Darke County Historic Schoolhouse

“I'm proud to work with local leaders and to help secure these investments for our district, and I'll keep fighting to bring opportunities, resources, and results back to the communities we call home,” said King.

Through this bill, Ohio House Republicans prioritized investing in Ohio’s future by expanding access to education and healthcare through new facilities or upgrades to existing ones, improving parks and roadways to better connect communities, and strengthening local facilities across the state by providing necessary funding for enhancements.

This bill now heads to the Governor for consideration.
