State Representative Levi Dean (R-Xenia) today recognized Jyn Beverly, a District 71 high school student whose artwork was selected to be included in the House of Representatives High School Student Art Exhibition.

"The human capacity for artistic expression is a Divine gift and visible expression of the Imago Dei," said Dean. "I'm delighted by the project to display just a sample of the impressive talent of our high school artists throughout the state and honored for my district to be represented by an extraordinary piece from Greenon High School's Jyn Beverly."

This biennial art exhibition showcases the creativity and talent of high school students from all 99 House districts and is on display in the hallway connecting the Vern Riffe Center and the Ohio Statehouse.

The House High School Student Art Exhibition was established in 2016 under the 131st General Assembly. High school art teachers from across the state are invited to submit their students' art for consideration by the Ohio Arts Council, which helps select pieces featured in the exhibition and works in partnership with the Ohio Art Education Association on the project.
