COLUMBUS – Two significant pieces of legislation sponsored by State Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.) yesterday passed out of the Ohio House.

House Bill 57 will protect Ohio’s vulnerable and make Ohio a better place to live. The bill will index the homestead exemption to inflation, decreasing inflationary risk for Ohio seniors and disabled veterans.

“Inflation is high and impacts every single Ohioan, especially those who live on fixed incomes, such as seniors and disabled veterans,” said Hall.

House Bill 66 will allow wholesalers experiencing “bad debt” to claim a refund from the state for the tax they pay up front when they are unable to obtain reimbursement from a retailer.

“This crucial tax return bill will support our wholesalers and help them better compete in the current market,” said Hall.

Both of these bills await consideration by the Ohio Senate.
