COLUMBUS—Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) is pleased to announce the recent passage of a number of important Ohio House bills.

Each bill is highlighted below:

  • Prohibits the Download of TikTok on Government Devices (73-21): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 17 will protect the security of Ohio by prohibiting state employees and agencies from downloading and using TikTok or any other application owned by a Chinese entity on government devices.
  • Requires Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in Schools (85-9): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 47 will require, rather than permit, that all school districts, community schools, STEM schools, college-preparatory boarding schools, and chartered nonpublic schools have an AED on site.
  • Chief Steven DiSario Act (65-28): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 100 will prohibit manufactured home park operators, condominium associations, neighborhood associations, and landlords from restricting the display of the “Thin Blue Line Flag.”
  • Modifies Municipal Tax Apportionment Formula for Remote Workers (93-0): House Bill 121 revises the laws regarding municipal net income taxation and create an opt-in method for businesses in Ohio to consolidate and simplify tax filings for remote workers.

These pieces of legislation await consideration by the Ohio Senate.
