Majority Whip Santucci Supports Effort to Bring U.S. Space Force Academy to Ohio

Majority Whip Nick Santucci (R-Niles) recently signed a letter addressed to Governor DeWine, expressing strong support for Ohio to be named the future home of the U.S. Space Force Academy.
“Ohio has always been a leader in aviation, aerospace, and innovation, and the U.S. Space Force Academy would build on that proud legacy. With our world-class research institutions, defense assets, skilled workforce, and history as the birthplace of aviation, Ohio is uniquely positioned to help train and prepare the next generation of American space leaders. Landing a project of this magnitude would also bring significant economic opportunities to our state, strengthen Ohio’s aerospace and defense supply chain, and support new investment and jobs in communities across Ohio,” said Majority Whip Nick Santucci.
The letter, signed by Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima) and members of the House Republican Caucus, highlights Ohio’s rich history of aerospace pioneers such as Neil Armstrong and John Glenn, as well as the state’s longstanding leadership in innovation, robust network of military installations, and defense industry partnerships.
This letter follows an announcement from Senator Bernie Moreno last week, calling on Ohio officials to join him in bringing the U.S. Space Force Academy to Dayton, Ohio – the birthplace of aviation. You can read the full release here.
