Loychik Announces Local Funding for Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Program
State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) announces funding coming to several local fire departments within Trumbull and Ashtabula Counties. The funding is through the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant program.
“I fully support our firefighters and other first responders that look out for the safety of our residents on a day to day basis,” said Loychik. “I look forward to seeing this money being used to assist our local fire departments to further enhance our response teams out in our rural communities.”
The grants will help fire departments acquire wildland fire equipment, such as UTVs, ATVs, wildfire slip-in units, PPE, MARCS communication devices, and other items supporting rural fire department development.
The local fire departments and their allocations through the program within the 65th House District include:
- Dorset Volunteer Fire Department - $2,418.50
- Jefferson Fire Department - $540.50
- Bloomfield Fire Department - $10,000
- Braceville Fire Department - $7,500
Loychik has a record of supporting fire department grants at the Statehouse and recently met with some of his fire chiefs in Columbus.
