House Committees Begin Hearings on Measures Spearheaded by Representative Thomas Hall
COLUMBUS—Three House committees this week began hearings on policy initiatives spearheaded by State Representative Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.).
The House Ways and Means Committee heard sponsor testimony on House Bill 122, legislation to support living organ donation by removing financial barriers. The bill will create a new income tax credit for employers who provide paid leave to employees who make an organ donation. Hall is sponsoring this measure alongside State Rep. Brian Lampton (R-Beavercreek).
House Bill 153 received its first hearing in the House General Government Committee. This legislation will require candidates running for local school boards to declare and file under a political party affiliation, aligning with requirements for most other elected officials in Ohio. Hall is sponsoring this measure alongside State Rep. Beth Lear (R-Galena).
Finally, the House Education Committee began hearings on House Bill 189, legislation to establish a statewide behavioral threat management operational process to identify, assess, manage, and monitor potential and real threats to schools. Hall is sponsoring this measure alongside State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg).
“These are just three pieces of legislation I feel will strongly impact our district,” said Hall. “They will promote the health and wellbeing of Ohioans, ensure election transparency, and increase school safety.”
