COLUMBUS – The House Economic and Workforce Development Committee yesterday began hearings on House Bill 517, also known as the Homebuyer Plus Military Inclusion Act, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. Brian Lampton (R-Beavercreek).

The Act will allow active-duty members of the uniformed services to participate in the homeownership savings linked deposit program. Members who are a resident of the state via a residency or domicile election will be eligible to apply for a homeownership savings account while on active-duty assignment in Ohio.

“Our active-duty members have dedicated their lives to serving our country,” said Lampton. “This legislation is a small way to support them and ensure they have the resources they need to purchase a home.”

House Bill 517 awaits further consideration by the House Economic and Workforce Development Committee.
