Edwards Announces $32.2 Million Investment in Meigs, Morgan Counties

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville) is pleased to announce that $32,249,414 will be directed towards waterfront redevelopment projects in Meigs and Morgan Counties as part of the newly created Ohio’s Wonderful Waterfronts Initiative.
Project details are as follows:
- $8,370,900 to revitalize the riverfront in the Village of Pomeroy, creating a community-centric downtown area;
- $3,451,000 to redevelop the Ohio River Corridor in the Village of Middleport, enhancing recreation facilities and increasing accessibility;
- $10,050,000 to revitalize the riverfront in the Village of Racine, promoting outdoor recreational activities; and
- $10,376,714 to improve streetscapes and revitalize the riverfront in the Village of McConnelsville, increasing accessibility to outdoor recreation and community activities.
“This investment into water infrastructure and tourism will ensure generations to come can enjoy the 94th House district and the greater Appalachian region,” said Edwards.
In total, over $152 million was awarded to waterfront redevelopment projects throughout Ohio’s Appalachian region.
