COLUMBUS— State Representatives Jack Daniels (R-New Franklin), Bill Roemer (R-Richfield), and State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) recently met with New Franklin Mayor Paul Adamson to discuss funding for the New Franklin Sewer Project. The community will receive $3.8 million from Substitute House Bill 2, the state's two-year construction budget for capital projects across Ohio.

Specifically, the construction will positively impact 14,000 New Franklin residents who live near the State Route 93 corridor, bringing sewer improvements and economic development activity to the area.

"We've seen multiple proposals to do a sewer project like this, but it always required extensive costs to residents," said Daniels. "Now that the funding is in place, final design and construction can start moving forward. More details will come from Summit County and Mayor Adamson’s office."

"The funding will complete much-needed sewer infrastructure improvements to commercial and residential areas along State Route 93 in New Franklin," said Roemer. "The project will support the community's current needs and open the door for future economic development opportunities."

“Our District 32 Representative Jack Daniels was appointed late in the game but gave the needed boost to push the grant over the finish line,” said Adamson. “District 31 Representative Bill Roemer lent all of his support even though the project was outside his district.”

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the legislation on June 28, supporting the need for upgraded sewer lines in the New Franklin area.
