COLUMBUS – Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today responded to Governor DeWine’s State of the State address:

“I agree with some of the sentiments Governor DeWine expressed during his address and share his hope that Ohio will be the best place to start a family, build a career, and retire with security. The future of Ohio is dependent on the decisions made by Ohio’s lawmakers while crafting this biennial budget. But for all the good this budget does do, there is still much more work to be done. Nothing in the governor’s budget addresses the fact that  prices are still too high at the grocery store, at the pharmacy, and for Ohioans struggling to afford quality housing and higher education,” said Leader Russo. “When we put People First, we are putting Ohioans at the center of every decision. We are focusing on the issues that matter most: better pay, better healthcare, fairer taxes, safer communities, affordable housing, real opportunities, and a secure economic future. It’s time for us as lawmakers to put forward a budget that builds opportunities for everyday Ohioans and sets us on a path to economic prosperity, because Ohioans deserve better.”

House Democrats are committed to making sure people deserve better: better pay, better healthcare, fairer taxes, safer communities, real opportunities, and a future where no one is held back.
